Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has issued a directive to senior officials, calling for daily reviews of the progress on the Regional Ring Road (RRR) project. He emphasized the importance of regularly updating him with the latest information on land acquisition and other related matters.
During a review meeting held at the State Secretariat today, the Chief Minister was briefed on the ongoing work for the RRR’s northern segment. The officials presented the current status of land acquisition and other developments in that region. CM Revanth Reddy instructed the District Collectors from areas covered by both the northern and southern sections of the RRR to update the Chief Secretary daily on the progress, land acquisition, and any other issues.
The Chief Minister stressed that land acquisition should be conducted transparently. To facilitate seamless communication, he recommended creating a WhatsApp group that includes the Chief Secretary, Infrastructure and Projects Advisor Srinivasa Raju, Chief Minister OSD Shahnawaz Qasim, District Collectors, and R&B officials to ensure real-time updates on the project’s progress. He directed that progress reports should be consistently updated from one review meeting to the next.
Particularly, CM Revanth Reddy ordered the initiation of land acquisition for the southern segment of the RRR, covering the Sangareddy-Amangal-Shadnagar-Choutuppal (189.20 km) stretch. With the northern segment’s land acquisition largely completed, he emphasized the need to expedite the southern segment’s land acquisition efforts.
The Chief Minister also urged the authorities to coordinate with the central government if any technical or other challenges arise during the road development and to ensure that work proceeds simultaneously across all sections. After examining the entire RRR layout on Google Maps, he suggested certain adjustments to the proposed alignment for the southern segment, insisting that the alignment should be planned with future needs in mind and executed transparently. He instructed officials to conduct field visits and submit a comprehensive report on the suggested changes.
Additionally, the Chief Minister provided specific guidelines for the construction of radial roads within the proposed Future City. He insisted that these roads should be well-connected to the main roads to ensure seamless travel without signal interruptions or other issues. The radial roads must also be designed to connect the Outer Ring Road (ORR) and RRR efficiently and serve the needs of upcoming industries and organizations in the Future City.
The meeting was attended by State R&B Minister Komati Reddy Venkat Reddy, Nalgonda MP K. Raghuveer Reddy, Chief Minister Adviser Vem Narender Reddy, Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari, Special Chief Secretary to the Transport Department Vikas Raj, Chief Minister Principal Secretary V. Seshadri, Chief Minister OSD Shahnawaz Qasim, and R&B Special Secretary Dasari Harichandana.
