Sri N. Chandrababu Naidu Garu
The Honourable Chief Minister
Government of Andhra Pradesh
Subject: Urgent Action Needed to Address Rising Attacks on Hindu Pilgrims and Temples in Andhra Pradesh
Dear Sir,
I write to you as a concerned citizen and a functionary of Vishwa Hindu Parishad to bring to your attention the increasing frequency of attacks on Hindu pilgrims and temples in Andhra Pradesh over the past decade. This alarming trend not only threatens the safety of individuals but also endangers the cultural and religious fabric of the region. The pattern of these attacks, which appear to be planned and targeted, raises serious concerns about a possible underlying conspiracy against the Hindu community and its festivals.
Recent incidents in locations such as Pedana (Krishna district), V. Kota (Chittoor district), and Rayachoti (Anantapur district) have instilled fear and insecurity among devotees. These attacks have not only caused physical harm but have also disrupted communal harmony and created an atmosphere of distrust.
Furthermore, there is growing concern over the rise of radical activities in previously peaceful coastal towns and the Rayalaseema region. A notable case in 2017 involved Konakalla Subramanyam, a young man from a village near Machilipatnam, who was reportedly radicalized and sent on a terrorist mission to Syria to join ISIS. His arrest by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in Hyderabad raises serious concerns about the extent of radicalization in the state and the possibility of a larger network operating within Andhra Pradesh.
In light of these developments, I urge the state government to initiate NIA investigations to uncover and dismantle these networks. Such action would serve as both a preventive measure and a deterrent against future threats.
Additionally, I request the government to exercise rigorous vigilance over religious institutions, particularly in monitoring teaching and training activities. This should include verifying the identities and credentials of students and educators, tracking curricula and funding sources, and scrutinizing the presence of illegal migrants from Bangladesh, Pakistan, and the Rohingya community, who may be taking shelter in these places of worship. There is a genuine concern that such elements could incite communal disturbances, further aggravating an already sensitive situation. Ensuring that religious institutions remain places of peace and not potential hubs for radical activities is of utmost importance.
I appreciate your attention to this critical issue and your ongoing commitment to maintaining communal harmony in Andhra Pradesh. Under your able leadership, I am confident that law and order will remain a top priority. I urge you to consider this matter with urgency and take necessary action to safeguard the interests of the Hindu community.
I look forward to your positive response and the steps your government will take to address this pressing concern.
With warm regards,
Dr.Buragadda Srinadh President of Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Krishna District Krishna District, Andhra Pradesh
