Noida: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday said the state has allocated 12,500 acres of land for defence manufacturing as part of the country’s two upcoming defence industrial corridors, one of which is being developed in the state.
Speaking at the inauguration of Raphe mPhibr Pvt Ltd’s private defence equipment and engine-testing facility in Sector 80, Noida, CM Adityanath hailed Uttar Pradesh’s growing role in the defence sector, with nine operational ordnance factories and several defence PSUs.
Adityanath and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, who was also at the event, together inaugurated the facility.
The Chief Minister emphasised India’s evolving challenges since 1947 and stressed the importance of power. “If you have power, the world bows before you,” he stated, underscoring the timeless relevance of this ancient concept. He also mentioned India’s traditional wisdom on balancing weapons and knowledge for national strength.
Adityanath quoted Maharana Pratap’s saying, ‘Veer Bhogya Vasundhara’ (the brave inherit the earth), to highlight the significance of courage and strength. He believes a nation becomes powerful through this balance and can then advocate for peace effectively.
The event was attended by both Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The inauguration marked a significant step in enhancing India’s defence capabilities through local manufacturing initiatives. The focus on developing these corridors aims to boost self-reliance in defence production.
Adityanath reiterated that India has faced various challenges since gaining independence in 1947. These challenges continue to evolve, necessitating a robust defence strategy. The development of these corridors is seen as a crucial move towards strengthening India’s defence infrastructure.
The establishment of facilities like Raphe mPhibr’s is expected to contribute significantly to India’s defence sector growth. By fostering local manufacturing capabilities, India aims to reduce dependency on foreign imports and enhance its strategic autonomy.
This initiative aligns with India’s broader goal of becoming a global leader in defence manufacturing. By investing in such projects, India seeks to create a sustainable ecosystem for innovation and technological advancement within its borders.
