Hazaribagh, Jharkhand: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while addressing the culmination of the BJP’s ‘Parivartan Yatra’ on Wednesday, declared that the ongoing political battle in Jharkhand is not just for power but for the protection of ‘Roti, Beti, Mati’ (bread, daughters, and the motherland). Modi asserted that the BJP is determined to safeguard the state’s future against the mismanagement of the JMM-Congress alliance.
“The JMM and Congress are playing with the security of Jharkhand and the nation,” Modi charged, accusing the state’s ruling coalition of neglecting the welfare of the people while indulging in false promises. He added that the ‘Parivartan Yatra,’ which concluded in Hazaribagh, symbolizes the beginning of a transformative chapter for Jharkhand, with a strong commitment to the well-being of its people.
Modi’s sharpest attack came against Chief Minister Hemant Soren, whom he accused of running a “shop of lies.” He urged the people of Jharkhand to remain cautious of leaders making hollow promises. “Before offering fresh promises, I challenge the JMM government to account for its old assurances — unemployment benefits, assistance to widows, financial support for girls at marriage, and more,” he remarked, questioning the state’s delivery on its commitments.
The Prime Minister did not shy away from addressing the growing concerns around demographic shifts in Jharkhand’s tribal regions, particularly in Santhal Pargana. According to Modi, the declining tribal population and increasing number of infiltrators is a direct result of JMM and Congress’s vote-bank politics. He added that the Jharkhand High Court has also voiced concerns about this trend, though the state government continues to downplay the issue.
Reaffirming the BJP’s commitment to the marginalized communities, Modi promised that as long as his party is in power, reservations for SC, ST, and OBC communities will remain secure. “Congress has always been anti-Dalit, anti-tribal, and anti-OBC. Even today, they are conspiring to snatch these reservations and divert them to their special vote bank,” he claimed.
Modi further accused Congress of undermining tribal identity for the sake of one family’s legacy, criticizing the party for naming most schemes and infrastructure projects after members of a single family. “This has done immense harm to the country,” he said.
Concluding his speech, the Prime Minister pointed to recent exam paper leaks in Jharkhand, alleging that corrupt networks, shielded by the state government, are exploiting the youth by selling examination papers for exorbitant prices. He called for immediate action, promising that the BJP, if elected, would end such corruption and ensure the rights of the youth are protected.
With the Assembly elections approaching, Modi’s speech was a clarion call for change, urging Jharkhand’s electorate to reject the current regime and place their faith in the BJP to usher in an era of security, development, and transparency.
