India name 222 athletes for 3rd Youth Asian Games in Bahrain

New Delhi:  A big contingent of 222 athletes will represent India in the third Youth Asian Games in Manama, Bahrain, from October 22 to 31.

India’s total contingent now stands at 357, including more than 100 support staff and other officials.

Olympic medallist wrestler Yogeshwar Dutt will be the chef de mission of the Indian contingent.

The event featured notable attendees, including Haryana sports minister Gaurav Gautam, Indian Olympic Association president PT Usha, M3M Foundation Chairperson Payal Kanodia, and National General Secretary of Kreeda Bharati Prasad Mahankar, along with Dutt and other officials from the IOA.

Although Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini was unable to attend due to prior commitments, he conveyed a video message encouraging the athletes to perform their best and bring honor to the nation.

The M3M Foundation, through its flagship initiative ‘Lakshay’, is dedicated to supporting young athletes by providing sports kits, mentorship, and long-term development opportunities, aiming to nurture future Olympians. The program’s slogan, ‘Vijayi Bhav! From Mitti Se Medal Tak’, emphasizes the foundation’s commitment to sports development, highlighting its role in assisting aspiring athletes with mentorship, equipment, training, and career guidance.
