Belated recognition of a stalwart sportsman

Hyderabad: K.R.V. Shyam Sunder(extreme right in the picture), long-time national tennikoit champion, coach, and Yoga guru, was elected as general secretary of the newly-formed Indian Ring Tennis Federation at its general meeting in Lucknow last week.

Representing the undivided Andhra Pradesh, Shyam Sunder had won the singles title at the national tennikoit tournament for more than five years in a row during the Nineties. As a coach, 64-year-old Shyam Sunder participated in the world tennikoit tournaments held in South Africa, Belarus, and Germany.

Shyam Sunder of Telangana was elected general secretary when the Indian Ring Federation was formed a year ago and is now re-elected at Lucknow. Rajit Kumar Kala of Rajasthan was elected president.
