Amitabh Bachchan reshares X post about son Abhishek being a ‘victim of nepotism’: I feel the same

New Delhi: Megastar Amitabh Bachchan on Wednesday backed a post on social media stating that his son, actor Abhishek Bachchan “unnecessarily became the victim of nepotism negativity”.

A Bollywood news portal on the microblogging site X posted a video of Abhishek posing for the shutterbugs at a promotional event.

“Abhishek Bachchan unnecessarily became the victim of ‘nepotism’ negativity, but the amount of good films in his filmography are very high,” read the caption of the post.

Amitabh also gave Abhishek a pep talk post his appearance at a Mumbai red carpet event and ahead of the latter’s next film, Be Happy.  Abhishek had earlier juggled questions about his father hyping him on social media, calling it Amitabh’s love but accepted that it becomes embarrassing at times.

A Bollywood news portal on X shared a video of Abhishek posing in a white tuxedo on the red carpet. The caption stated,  “Abhishek Bachchan unnecessarily became the victim of ‘nepotism’ negativity, but the amount of good films in his filmography is very high (fire and hundred emojis).” Amitabh reposted the tweet and wrote, “I feel the same… and not just because I am his father.”

Amitabh then reposted the trailer of Abhishek’s next film, Remo D’Souza’s relationship drama Be Happy, on his X handle and wrote, “Abhishek you are extraordinary – How you adapt and change with each film character is an art, which is incredible… love you Bhaiyu.” Be Happy revolves around a father-daughter relationship, in which Abhishek will reunites with his Ludo co-star Inayat Verma. In his last release, which was also based on a father-daughter relationship, Abhishek played a real-life Bengali terminally ill patient Arjun Das in Shoojit Sircar’s I Want To Talk, released last year. The film failed to attract audiences to theatres. In his next, Abhishek will return to the Housefull franchise with the fifth installment of the ensemble comedy franchise.

Amitabh further heaped praises on his son, writing alongside a video of Abhishek gracefully posing on the red carpet, “Superior… Abhishek… stunning… Abhishek… the walk the grace and THE STYLE… and no fuss, just a normal being… away from the unnecessary display of excitement or attention seeking… (red heart emoji).” A couple of months ago, Amitabh even validated the rumors on X of Abhishek being cast as the chief antagonist in Shah Rukh Khan-starrer crime drama King and wrote that after years of hard work, it’s finally Abhishek’s chance to shine now.

Amitabh has also shared screen space with Abhishek in a number of films, including Ram Gopal Varma’s Sarkar franchise, Shaad Ali’s 2005 blockbuster romantic comedy Bunty Aur Babli, Karan Johar’s  2006 romantic drama Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna, and R Balki’s 2009 film Paa.
