World Bank Applauds Telangana Government, Offers Support for Key Initiatives

Hyderabad: The World Bank has lauded the Telangana government for its progressive focus on state development. This recognition follows a recent meeting between Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and World Bank President Ajay Banga in Washington last month.

Today, further discussions took place at the Telangana Secretariat, where a high-level delegation led by the World Bank’s South Asia Vice President, Martin Raiser, met with CM Revanth Reddy. The team included World Bank Country Operations Head Paul Procy, Urban Infrastructure Project Lead Natalia Kay, and Digital Development Senior Specialist Mahimapath Ray.

During the meeting, CM Revanth Reddy outlined the state’s key development priorities, which include bolstering urban infrastructure, improving education, enhancing medical services, and upgrading irrigation systems. The Chief Minister urged the World Bank to extend financial support to these priority projects and to collaborate in ensuring the highest standards for Telangana’s ongoing initiatives.

Praising CM Reddy’s vision, Martin Raiser commended the government’s efforts to strengthen the education and healthcare sectors. He also acknowledged the alignment between the World Bank’s goals and the priorities set by the Telangana government, expressing the institution’s interest in supporting the state’s development projects.

State officials in attendance included Irrigation Minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, Chief Secretary Shanti Kumari, Principal Secretary to the CM V. Seshadri, Special Secretary Ajith Reddy, Finance Special Chief Secretary Ramakrishna Rao, Municipal and Urban Development Department Principal Secretary Dana Kishore, and Health Secretary Christina Z. Chongthu, among others.
