Hyderabad: The Telangana Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today strongly condemned the use of abusive language by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his late mother during his public address in Bihar. The party has demanded that Rahul Gandhi immediately tender an unconditional apology to the Prime Minister and to the departed soul of his mother.
State BJP Chief Spokesperson and Media In-charge N V Subhash, in a statement, said Rahul Gandhi’s remarks reflect his ignorance of India’s culture and traditions. “In India, irrespective of religion or political differences, a mother is accorded the highest respect. Using slurs against any mother is against the ethos of Indian society. Rahul Gandhi’s comments are shameful and unbecoming of a national leader,” he said.
Subhash further remarked that the BJP’s election symbol, the Lotus, has always bloomed in the mud. “Rahul Gandhi’s repeated abuses against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his habit of insulting the nation even on foreign soil will only serve as fertilizer for the Lotus to bloom further,” he added.
Criticising Rahul Gandhi’s ongoing ‘Vote Adhikar Yatra’, the BJP spokesperson described it as nothing but a “Save Infiltrators Yatra,” aimed at misleading people with false propaganda about India’s electoral process.
Responding to Rahul Gandhi’s claim that the Prime Minister has remained silent on his Bihar campaign, Subhash quipped: “Rahul Gandhi is behaving like a galli ka neta (street-level leader), while Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been acknowledged across the world as a global statesman.”
The Telangana BJP reiterated that such repeated attempts by Rahul Gandhi to lower political discourse would only strengthen people’s resolve to stand by Prime Minister Modi and the BJP.
