Bengaluru: Spiritual leader Sri Sri Ravi Shankar on Tuesday lauded India’s targeted actions against terrorism, calling them “wise and commendable,” while urging citizens at home and abroad to remain calm and confident in the nation’s leadership.
“Acts of terrorism are crimes against humanity and must be completely uprooted,” he said, stressing the importance of accountability for those who refuse to respond to dialogue and peaceful means.
Drawing from Indian iconography, Sri Sri noted, “Even our Gods and Goddesses are depicted holding a flower in one hand and a weapon in the other – a symbol of peace balanced by readiness to act when necessary.”
In this spirit, he praised the Indian government’s decision to strike only at terrorist bases, calling it a measured and sensible response. “This is a commendable step that reflects maturity and strategic wisdom,” he remarked.
Addressing concerns over escalating tensions, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar reassured Indians around the world: “Do not panic. Stay calm and patient. Under the leadership of Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the country is making the right decisions.”
He concluded with a message of hope and faith: “God is with us. So have this confidence.”
