The temple is believed to have the Navagraha (Nine Planets) in Anjaneyar’s tail, which symbolizes the planets’ influence on the lives of devotees. Worshipping these planets alongside their respective deities at the Navagraha Fort is said to bring favorable results and blessings. The temple has individual sanctums for Navagraha deities, Ashtanaga Mandapa, and those associated with Rahu, Ketu, and the 27 stars (Nakshatras).

The temple’s deity is also linked with Kubera, the Hindu god of wealth, who is believed to have sought the blessings of Hanuman for the prosperity of his kingdom. Kubera’s association with Lord Hanuman is said to bring both material and spiritual wealth to the devotees here.

The sage Agasthiya worshipped Lord Shiva here and was granted a boon. As a result, the place is known as ‘Agastiswaram’ in the Purana. After the Mughal rulers arrived, the name *Walaja Pettai* was given. The temple has been an important place of worship for centuries, and it is built in a square shape with Anjaneya’s temple facing all four directions—east, west, north, and south.

In the northern direction of the temple, there is a self-manifested idol of *Kuber, with his hair tied up and a bell adorning his head, blessing devotees with a raised hand in the “Abhaya Mudra. He is worshipped here as “Sri Kuber Veera Anjaneya” and is believed to grant wishes to those who pray sincerely.

In the *Ramayana, “King Krishna Devaraya” faced many struggles during his 18-year ‘Rahu Dasha’ (a period of suffering caused by the planet Rahu) and sought a solution. His spiritual guide, “Vyasaraya” (Guru of Sri Raghavendra Swamy), advised him to worship *Anjaneya* and perform rituals at all the temples dedicated to Anjaneya. By doing so, he would overcome all obstacles.

This temple is said to house idols of “Rahu, Ketu, Nagas” and other deities worshipped by King Krishna Devaraya. According to tradition, devotional worship here helps resolve **Navagraha doshas* (planetary afflictions) and ‘Rahu-Ketu doshas’.

Hanuman Jayanti is celebrated with grandeur, involving recitations of Hanuman Chalisa, special pujas, and processions. Tuesdays and Saturdays are considered auspicious days for Lord Hanuman, attracting many devotees who offer prayers, light lamps, and perform rituals for strength, prosperity, and the removal of obstacles. archanai and homa are performed throughout the year, ensuring the continuous blessings of Lord Kubera Veera Anjaneya and the Navagrahas.
