Deoband (Saharanpur): Uttar Pradesh Press Club presented its annual awards to personalities from various fields for their contributions.
Among this year’s award winners, Dr. Satyawan Saurabh and Priyanka Saurabh were honoured with the Mahatma Gandhi Award for independent writing and their contributions to literature and culture.
On this occasion, President Mumtaz Ahmed said, “The work of journalism is not easy. Especially for women; despite this, Priyanka Saurabh ji has become an inspiration for others across the country through independent writing even in these circumstances.” Senior journalist Omveer Singh said, “It is a big thing for the Saurabh couple to choose independent journalism for the benefit of society.
Both have made their mark across the country on the strength of struggle and activism.” Under the award, prize money, a citation, and a special handicraft were given.
It is known that Dr. Satyawan Saurabh and Priyanka Saurabh have been dedicated to independent journalism and literary service for a long time.
Ten books have been published in various genres by both of them, and many are under publication. Not only this, they regularly write editorials for thousands of Hindi, English, and other language newspapers and magazines in India and abroad. Literature and journalism lovers of the region, as well as the general public, have congratulated them for this special achievement.
