Bengaluru: The 10th edition of the International Women’s Conference (IWC) commenced with an inspiring inaugural session led by the Honorable President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu. The conference, themed “Just Be,” brought together over 500 delegates from 50 countries at the Art of Living International Center, fostering a space for reflection, dialogue, and self-discovery.
In her address, President Murmu highlighted the importance of mental and spiritual strength in navigating modern challenges. “Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar and the Art of Living have inspired millions worldwide to find inner peace through meditation and humanitarian service,” she said. Global spiritual leader and humanitarian Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar reinforced the conference’s message of empowerment. “We cannot let a single tear fall from the eyes of a woman,” he said, underscoring the profound impact of women in shaping positive environments. He further noted, “If women take on leadership roles in major nations, global conflicts and societal distortions may diminish or even cease.” He also reflected on India’s cultural reverence for women, stating, “Our mythology assigns key ministries to women—Durga for defense, Lakshmi for finance, and Saraswati for education.”
