NMDC posts record 15 pc rise in iron ore production in April; sales grow 3 pc

New Delhi: State-owned NMDC has reported a 15 per cent rise in its iron ore production and a 3 per cent growth in sales of the mineral in April.

In a statement on Sunday, NMDC said it produced 4 million tonnes (MnT) of iron ore in April, higher than 3.48 MnT in the same month last year.

NMDC sold 3.63 MnT of iron ore last month, up from 3.53 MnT in April 2024.

Output from Chhattisgarh stood at 2.85 million tonnes versus 2.35 million tonnes a year ago, while Karnataka contributed 1.15 million tonnes, slightly up from 1.13 million tonnes.

Sales from Chhattisgarh were 2.82 million tonnes (vs 2.74 mln YoY), and Karnataka sales stood at 0.81 million tonnes (vs 0.79 mln YoY).
