Los Angeles (LA) is burning today, not by the Californian wildfires but by the fire ignited by protesters in the streets by torching vehicles, attacking police, putting road blockades, and hoisting flags of different countries and burning the American flag. The fire erupted because of the high-handedness of Marines and National Guards deployed by President Trump to what he said was to liberate (sic) Los Angeles from a migrant invasion.
Ironically, a country of migrants built on imported talent is making immigration crackdown a signature issue that brought Donald Trump to power. Today, there are more lawyers and businessmen in America than in any other country, and all wealthy Americans dominate Wall Street. But unfortunately, Wall Street people make money, not products. It is the products that generate revenue, hire people, and generate an economy. Look at the surnames on American patents and publications; most are foreign, and surprisingly, a lot are Chinese.
The condescending mindset of the American President is reflected in his recent address to soldiers at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, where he said, Generations of American Army heroes did not shed their blood on distant shores only to watch our country be destroyed by invasion and third-world lawlessness. Americans need to look inside before talking of third-world lawlessness because gun violence and lawlessness is a norm in their daily lives. For example, a gunman just opened fire and killed people because he was on a high. A normal civilian goes to a school and shoots innocent children that forcing parents to send their children in bulletproof jackets. The psychiatric and drug-related violence in the US far outnumbers that of any third-world country. One can go on and write a thesis on the violent and lawless culture of the USA. Understandably, an ignorant American President does not know that his country is just 248 years old, so naturally, he may not know what exactly a first-world country looks like! He needs to take a few lessons on ancient civilisations. This type of colonial mindset among Westerners has given birth to racism that has affected non-white people globally.
Immigrants made up 15% of the 34-crore American population, of which California is home to over 10 million of them, mostly from Mexico and Latin American countries. The US cannot train enough highly skilled citizens of its own for all the high-tech jobs that it has. Silicon Valley is constantly begging the President and Congress to let more highly skilled immigrants in. On the other end of the scale, there are not enough people in America who are ready to do hard work in the fields despite so many homeless citizens.
So, the agriculture industry is heavily dependent on immigrant labour, preferably undocumented migrants, because they are easier to exploit. If you’re in the US without authorization, you don’t dare complain if your employer violates safety laws or doesn’t pay you on par with Americans. The cost of fruit and vegetables will skyrocket if they employ American citizens in agriculture. This is also true for migrants from other parts of the world, especially from Asia, who are engaged in low-level jobs throughout the US. The highly skilled immigrants are also exploited as they are offered salaries that are much lower than their American counterparts.
As a matter of principle, the deportation of illegal immigrants cannot be questioned. But if you first encourage a mass influx of them into your country when you need them, then it becomes a problem at some stage. In a state like California, laws have been passed to shield undocumented immigrants from deportation if they have not committed serious crimes. So, it is very easy for people without a legal status to fit in. These immigrants have been staying there for the last few decades. California legislators have also granted undocumented immigrants privileges they cannot get in many other states, including driver’s licenses, health care, in-state college tuition, and some financial aid. It will surprise many that a theft of less than 1000 US$ is not considered criminal in California.
The protest in LA is not dying down and is slowly spreading to other parts, mostly in the blue states dominated by democrats. It has become political. Any mass protest that prolongs needs funds to sustain itself. This is where the American deep state of Soros and his ilk of left liberals, who are anti-establishment and against nationalist politics, have stepped in to exploit the agitation to overthrow the government. This is now an agitation against President Donald Trump. Looks like Karma has struck America, and the regime change practised by them, world over, is coming back to their backyard as prophesied by Hillary Clinton, who gave a blunt message to Pakistan that snakes in one’s backyard will eventually bite those who keep them.
Recently, India was the target of Americans and its deep state as they funded the CAA agitation (remember Shaheen Bagh) through NGOs run by a progressive Indian lobby of intellectuals to overthrow the nationalist government of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. A similar attempt was made by Khalistanis in Canada, hand-in-glove with several Indian leaders in opposition parties to fund farmers’ protests in New Delhi and Punjab. Last year, Joe Biden tried the same game of regime change by funding students’ agitation in Bangladesh to overthrow democratically elected Sheikh Hasina’s government and brought America’s puppet Yunus to power through the back door.
But see the contrast, how the Modi government handled these agitations with maturity by using minimum force and cutting down the funding sources to end these agitations. Even the agitations in the Kashmir valley and stone pelting instances ended as the external funding dried up. Trump needs to take a leaf out of Modi’s book on governance and learn how to checkmate opponents. Highhandedness and aggressiveness combined with his arrogant attitude, will not do any good to him. People will support him only if the agitation is addressed without Human Rights violations. The Western leaders and the media jump to their feet in the UN General Assembly whenever there is an anti-establishment agitation in any third-world country, especially in Asia, exposing their hypocrisy. Now they are all silent on LA violence.
Let us not forget that people migrate primarily for economic reasons, education, political instability, persecution, natural disasters, and desire for a better quality of life. But when people migrate illegally to change the demography in a country, it becomes a serious matter and needs to be dealt with an iron fist. Take the example of illegal Muslim Bangladeshi and Rohingya migrants into India, and slowly forming ghettos in different parts of the country with malicious intent. Look at the helplessness of Europe today, where millions of refugees from Islamic countries have become migrants because of the open arms policy of the governments, which is threatening the very basic cultural fabric of their countries. So, Mr. Trump, you are not wrong when you deport the illegal immigrants who have criminal intent, but please walk the talk and practise what you preach on human rights violations before talking about migrant invasion and third-world lawlessness.
