Harare Sports Club: Riding on a record-breaking century from opener Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, India crushed England by 100 runs to win their sixth-ever ICC U19 World Cup title. Chasing a mammoth 412, England fought hard with Caleb Falconer scoring a blistering century but, in the end, they ran out of batters to be bowled out for 311. For India, RS Ambrish took 3/56 while Deepesh Devendran and Kanishk Chouhan took two wickets apiece.
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi rewrote history with a record-breaking performance with the bat as he blasted 175 off 80 to help India to a mammoth total of 411/9. India lost opener Aaron George early before Sooryavanshi and captain Ayush Mhatre led an excellent recovery with a century stand. Sooryavanshi was the more aggressive of the duo, hitting a 55-ball century. Mhatre also scored a brisk fifty before being dismissed during the India Vs England Youth ODI.
Sooryavanshi scored a stunning 175 before being dismissed. India suffered a mini collapse but Abhigyan Kundu and Kanishk Chouhan ensured they finished on a high.

Several future stars have announced themselves on the world stage, and if history is anything to go by, many of these names will soon be lighting up the senior game. He praises the boys for executing the goals they set and for playing their natural game, something that makes him extremely happy as captain. Speaking about Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, Mhatre says there are simply no words for that innings. He adds that the team knows how fabulous a batter Sooryavanshi is, and today he showed exactly what he can do on the biggest stage. Mhatre talks about carrying forward India’s legacy, referencing World Cup triumphs led by Rohit Sharma and Harmanpreet Kaur, and says this win is their way of adding to that legacy.
