Ahmedabad: True to his inimitable style, Mahendra Singh Dhoni kept the world guessing on his IPL future, saying he will now enjoy his bike rides in Ranchi and will take his own sweet time to decide whether he will come back next season.
Chennai Super Kings’ ordinary season gave fodder to speculations that the side may go in for a complete overhaul in the coming season, and the iconic Dhoni will not be around even as a batter.
With just 8 points from 14 matches, Chennai finished the season in the 10th position for the first time in their history.
Dhoni started the team preparation for the next season after the five-time champions were eliminated from the playoff race.
Harsha Bhogle spoke to Dhoni after the match, and the legendary wicket-keeper played a guessing game. “I have four-five months to decide. The effort needed to return double when you compare it to last season. Performances are not always the parameters to judge someone. If this had been the case, some of the players had retired at 22. The contribution is more important,” MS Dhoni said.
“I am not saying I am done. I am not saying I am coming back. I want to go back home and drive my bikes in Ranchi. I have the luxury of time before revealing my decision,” he added.
