Patna: Prime Minister Narendra Modi responded strongly to Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge’s remarks on Jammu and Kashmir during an election meeting in Bihar’s Nawada on Monday.
Expressing his disappointment, PM Modi stated that he was ashamed of Kharge’s comments, attributing them to the influence of the ‘Tukde Tukde Gang’. He questioned whether Jammu and Kashmir was not an integral part of India, countering Kharge’s earlier inquiry about the connection between Rajasthan and Jammu and Kashmir.
PM Modi emphasized the sacrifices made by youth from Bihar and Rajasthan in safeguarding Kashmir, urging the Congress to comprehend this reality.
Furthermore, he criticized the Congress for its historical reluctance towards implementing Dr. Ambedkar’s constitution in Jammu and Kashmir, despite their professed allegiance to it.
The Prime Minister defended his practice of providing guarantees, asserting that it is not unlawful to do so, especially when committed to serving the nation’s interests. He challenged the opposition’s perception of invincibility, highlighting their coalition’s reliance on falsehoods to secure votes.
In his appeal for support, PM Modi endorsed BJP candidate Vivek Thakur in the electoral battle against JD(U) candidate Shravan Kushwaha.
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar praised the transformative changes witnessed across various sectors since the formation of the NDA government in 2005, contrasting it with the alleged lack of progress during the rule of RJD chief Lalu Prasad and his wife Rabri Devi.
