Kolkata: BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari on Wednesday faced protests from TMC supporters while campaigning in his Nandigram constituency in West Bengal’s Purba Medinipur district and later in Bhabanipur in south Kolkata.
Adhikari, who is also the leader of the opposition in the state Assembly, is contesting both Nandigram and Bhabanipur, the home turf of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
At both locations, TMC supporters shouted slogans such as ‘Joy Bangla’ and ‘Sisirbabur Chheleta’ (failed son of veteran politician Sisir Adhikari).
