BJP Condemns Revanth Reddy’s unwarranted threats

Hyderabad: The Telangana unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has strongly condemned Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s objectionable and undemocratic threats against the Union government.
In a sharply worded statement, BJP State Chief Spokesperson and Media In-charge N.V. Subash cautioned the Chief Minister to rein in his rhetoric and refrain from making reckless statements unbecoming of his position.

Subash was referring to Revanth Reddy’s remarks — “hum hata denge, gira denge, mita denge” — directed at the Centre for refusing to yield to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s demand for a debate on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voters being carried out in Bihar and in other Indian states, in Parliament.

“This is nothing but the ‘Emergency mindset’ of Congress leaders, who still behave as if they are the nation’s policymakers despite being decisively voted out of power more than a decade ago,” Subash said.

Taking Rahul Gandhi to task, the BJP leader said it was “shameful” that the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha had not mended his ways even after being pulled up by the Supreme Court in a defamation case for his derogatory remarks against the Indian Army and his baseless claim that China had occupied 2,000 square kilometres of Indian territory in Ladakh. Subash recalled that the apex court had also questioned why Congress preferred making such allegations from public platforms and on social media instead of raising them on the floor of the Parliament.

“Instead of learning from past mistakes, Rahul Gandhi is once again indulging in dharnas against Constitutional bodies like the Election Commission, peddling false allegations such as ‘vote chori’ and insinuating that these were orchestrated by the BJP-led NDA government. These are blatant lies with no public takers,” Subash said.

He further reminded Revanth Reddy that Congress’s central leaders had issued clarifications when similar allegations were raised over the Maharashtra Assembly elections — citing specific constituencies where ‘bogus voters’ were allegedly added — but which were won by Congress and its allies, the NCP and Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena.

Subash cautioned the Chief Minister against taking Telangana’s electorate for granted. “Your party may have scraped through with a simple majority in the last Assembly elections, but the people will not hesitate to teach you and the Congress a lesson — both for failing to fulfil your poll promises and for your arrogance and poor governance,” he said.
