BJP Condemns CM Revanth Reddy for Disrespecting Hindu Sentiments at Saraswati Pushkaralu

Hyderabad: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Telangana unit on Thursday condemned Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy for what it termed a blatant insult to Hindu religious sentiments during the ongoing Saraswati Pushkaralu festival at Kaleshwaram. The party expressed deep outrage over the placement of Goddess Saraswati’s image at the feet of a massive cut-out of the Chief Minister and his wife, terming it an act of sheer arrogance and religious insensitivity.

The BJP’s Chief Spokesperson and Media In-charge, N.V. Subash, lashed out at the Congress government in Telangana for what he called a “gross and deliberate affront” to Hindu traditions. He said that placing the divine image of Goddess Saraswati, the revered deity of knowledge and wisdom, at the bottom of a cut-out depicting the Chief Minister and his spouse, was symbolic of a deeply offensive mindset and a display of power-drunk hubris.

“Goddess Saraswati is not just a deity; she is the very embodiment of learning and knowledge for millions of Hindus across the world. Placing her image at the feet of any mortal, let alone a political leader, is not only disrespectful but a direct assault on the religious sentiments of Hindus. This act is shameful, deplorable, and reeks of arrogance that comes with unchecked political power,” said Subash.

The incident occurred during the preparations for the Saraswati Pushkaralu, a once-in-12-year sacred event that is being held at Triveni Sangam in Kaleshwaram, where the rivers Godavari, Pranahita, and the mythological subterranean Saraswati converge. The festival, which began on May 15 and will continue until May 26, is being celebrated for the first time in Telangana since the state’s formation in 2014.

The BJP accused the Chief Minister of allowing a personality cult and political vanity to overshadow religious sanctity. “By projecting his image above that of a revered Hindu goddess, Revanth Reddy has demonstrated a dangerous blend of ignorance and ego.

Such acts are not mere oversights; they reflect the mindset of a government that has scant respect for Hindu values and traditions,” Subash stated. He added, “It’s no surprise that the Congress is widely seen as an anti-Hindu party—and Revanth Reddy’s newfound arrogance only reinforces that perception. Perhaps he’s simply trying to impress his political mentors, the Gandhi dynasts.”

He further stated that the Congress government’s repeated affronts to Hindu sentiments have become increasingly evident in recent times. He asserted that his party will not tolerate such insults to the Hindu faith and vowed to expose the Congress, which claims to be the guardian of secularism.
