Suryapet: The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) Hyderabad unit hosted a highly successful “Stakeholders Conclave” in Suryapet district on Monday, marking the celebrations of World Standards Day. The event brought together key stakeholders, including industrialists, government officials, and consumer representatives, to discuss the importance of quality standards in national development.
The conclave was inaugurated by District Collector Tejas Nanda Lal Pawar, who emphasized the critical role of following Indian standards for the district’s industrial growth and overall national progress. He assured the industrialists of the district administration’s full support in producing quality goods and urged collective participation in BIS’s mission to enhance environmental standards. PV Srikanth, Head of the Hyderabad BIS Office (HYBO), outlined the key objectives of the conclave, highlighting how this year’s World Standards Day theme aligns with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal 9 (SDG-9), which focuses on industry, innovation, and infrastructure.
The event featured technical presentations by Rakesh Tanneeru, Joint Director at BIS, and Vijay Bhaskar Reddy, Senior General Manager at My Home Industries. These experts provided valuable insights into the role of quality standards in industrial processes and consumer safety.
With over 150 participants from various industries, jewelry sectors, NGOs, consumer forums, and state government departments, the conclave saw active engagement in discussions on how BIS can further support industrialists in adhering to quality protocols.
