BCCI invites applications for 2 men’s selectors and 4 women’s selection committee members

New Delhi:  The BCCI on Friday invited applications to fill two vacancies in the five-member senior men’s national selection committee, as well as four positions in the women’s panel.

The eligibility criteria remained unchanged from previous years. Applicants must have played either a minimum of seven Test matches or 30 first-class games.

Alternatively, candidates with experience in at least 10 One Day Internationals (ODIs) and 20 first-class matches will also be considered.

According to a release shared by the board, members of the senior India men’s selection committee will be responsible for selecting Team India (Senior Men) across formats – Tests, One-Day Internationals, Twenty20 Internationals, and any other formats as determined by the BCCI.

Eligibility

  • Minimum of 7 Tests or 30 First-Class matches or 10 ODIs and 20 First-Class matches.
  • Must have retired from the game at least 5 years prior.
  • Must not have been a member of any Cricket Committee of the BCCI for a cumulative period of 5 years.

Currently, the panel is headed by former India fast bowler Ajit Agarkar. It also comprises Shiv Sunder Das (Central Zone), Subroto Banerjee (East Zone), Ajay Ratra (North Zone), and Sridharan Sharath (South Zone).

National Selector – Women (4 positions)

Members of the Women’s Selection Committee will oversee the selection of Team India (Senior Women) across formats and age groups. The role also includes vetting coaches and support staff, preparing evaluation reports, and ensuring a strong bench strength.

Eligibility

  • Former players who have represented the Indian Women’s National Team.
  • Must have retired from the game at least 5 years prior.
  • Must not have been a member of any Cricket Committee of the BCCI for a cumulative period of 5 years.

The women’s committee, led by Neetu David, comprises Aarti Vaidya, Renu Margrate, Venkatcher Kalpana and Shyama Shaw.

National Selector – Junior Men (1 position)

The Junior Cricket Committee member will be responsible for selecting age-group teams (up to Under-22) for camps, tours, and tournaments. The role also includes organizing junior tournaments, appointing captains and support staff, and promoting ethical values among youth players.

Eligibility

  • Former players with a minimum of 25 First-Class Matches.
  • Must have retired from the game at least 5 years prior.
  • Must not have been a member of any Cricket Committee of the BCCI for a cumulative period of 5 years.

VS Thilak Naidu leads the junior men committee which includes Pathik Patel, Ranadeb Bose, Kishan Mohan and Harvinder Singh Sodhi.
