New York: India skipper Rohit Sharma is on the cusp of achieving a world record in cricket. The senior opening batter is just 6 sixes away from becoming the first batter in the history of the game to complete 600 maximums across all three formats of the game.
Rohit Sharma is currently the highest six-hitter in the history of the game. He sits at the top of the charts with 594 sixes to his name. He overtook Chris Gayle as a batter with the most sixes in international cricket during the ICC World Cup 2023. If he hits 6 sixes in the 2024 World Cup, he will etch his name in the record books.
Rohit Sharma has looked in decent touch with the bat in the recently concluded IPL T20.
Rohit Sharma has been terrific as a skipper.
India captain Rohit Sharma after the win in the Ranchi Test last year joined MS Dhoni in a massive feat for the Indian Cricket Team. He completed 298 wins for the Team across the format and joined the former skipper MS Dhoni, who also ended his career with 298 wins under his belt.
Rohit Sharma in terms of wins for India only has Virat Kohli and Sachin Tendulkar ahead of him. Kohli has 313 wins under his belt whereas Tendulkar had 307 wins. With the way, the current skipper of the team is going it’s fair to say that he can surpass Sachin Tendulkar on the list.
