Dhaka: A Chattogram court on Thursday denied bail to former ISKCON leader Chinmoy Krishna Das during a hearing held amid tight security, news agency ANI reported, citing Bangladeshi media.
Das had earlier been arrested from the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport area of Dhaka in connection with a sedition case, among other charges, filed in Chattogram on November 25.
The Hindu monk’s arrest sparked widespread protests in Dhaka and Chattogram, where his supporters clashed with security forces.
