IPEMA, Poultry India Celebrate World Egg Day 2025

Hyderabad: Poultry India and the Indian Poultry Equipment Manufacturers Association (IPEMA), in collaboration with the National Egg Coordination Committee (NECC), celebrated World Egg Day 2025 at the Press Club, Somajiguda, on Friday. The event highlighted this year’s theme — “Protein Awareness: Eggs for Nutrition & Health.”

The programme aimed to raise awareness about the importance of eggs in combating India’s growing protein deficiency and promoting affordable, accessible nutrition. Experts described eggs as “nature’s perfect food,” rich in protein, vitamins, and essential minerals suitable for all age groups.

The event was attended by several dignitaries, including K.G. Anand (VHL Group), Dr. Uday (Dean, Rajendranagar), R.P. Naidu (APEDA), Balu Naik (FSSAI), Dr. Ravinder Reddy (TPBA), P. Chakradhar Rao (Founder President, IPEMA), Chitturi Suresh Rayudu (President, IEC), Uday Singh Bayas (President, IPEMA–Poultry India), and others. Speakers underlined the nutritional value of eggs and their role in improving public health.

Addressing the media, Uday Singh Bayas noted that though India is the world’s second-largest egg producer, per capita annual consumption remains at 103 eggs—less than half the global average. “This gap highlights the urgent need for awareness campaigns like World Egg Day to encourage daily egg consumption for better health,” he said.

The organisers also announced the 17th Poultry India Expo 2025, South Asia’s largest poultry exhibition, to be held from November 26–28, 2025, at HITEX, Hyderabad, featuring over 500 exhibitors from 50 countries. A Knowledge Day on November 25 at Novotel Hyderabad will include expert sessions on emerging poultry diseases, sustainable feed solutions, and career opportunities in the sector.
