FIR registered against HD Revanna over abduction of woman

Mysuru: A new First Information Report (FIR) has been lodged against former Karnataka minister HD Revanna, following allegations of abduction and sexual assault made by a man regarding his mother.

The complainant, in his submission to the KR Nagar police station in Mysuru district, stated that his mother had previously served as a housemaid at HD Revanna’s residence for six years. Afterward, she returned to her village and engaged in daily wage labor.

According to the complainant, on April 23, his mother was taken away by an individual named Sathish Babanna, who claimed to have been sent by HD Revanna’s wife, Bhavani Revanna. She returned home on April 26 but was taken away again on April 29 by Babanna, citing an old legal issue.

Subsequently, the complainant came across a video purportedly showing his mother subjected to sexual abuse by the incumbent MP and Hassan Lok Sabha candidate, Prajwal Revanna. This discovery led him to confront Babanna and subsequently file a kidnapping complaint against HD Revanna and Babanna on Thursday night.

The FIR, filed by the KR Nagar police, designates HD Revanna as the first accused and Babanna as the second accused under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
