Visakhapatnam: Dr. Kutikuppala Suryarao expressed deep condolences on the passing of former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, describing his death as a great loss to the nation. Dr. Singh, who served as Prime Minister from 2004 to 2014, was lauded by Dr. Suryarao as a visionary leader, a champion of economic reforms, and a globally respected statesman.
Dr. Suryarao recalled receiving the Padma Shri award in 2008 for his contributions to medical treatment and research in the presence of Dr. Singh. He cherished the opportunity to interact with the former Prime Minister at the Rashtrapati Bhavan during a High Tea program hosted by the President of India. Dr. Singh had commended Dr. Suryarao’s journey from a small village in Srikakulam district to becoming a renowned medical expert and Padma Shri awardee.
