Hyderabad: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has strongly criticized the state budget presented by Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Batti Vikramarka, calling it a mere “jugglery of figures” designed to mislead the public.
BJP spokesperson NV Subash dismissed the budget as unrealistic, arguing that while the overall size may have marginally increased, the allocations fall far short of what is required to fulfill the Congress party’s electoral promises.
Citing Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s recent appeal to government employees to sacrifice their Dearness Allowance (DA), Subash described the situation as a “shameful reflection of the state’s financial crisis.” He questioned how the government plans to generate the necessary resources to cover the deficit.
“The government is already struggling to pay its employees and pensioners on time, pushing them into financial distress,” Subash said. He also warned that ongoing infrastructure projects could face delays or cancellations due to the state’s inability to clear mounting contractor bills.
The BJP cautioned that the financial mismanagement could spark unrest among both government employees and contractors, who may be forced to take their grievances to the streets.
Calling the Congress government’s promises a “bluff,” the BJP demanded that the Chief Minister issue an unconditional apology to the people for failing to deliver on electoral commitments.
