BJP Condemns Attack on Saif Ali Khan, Slams Congress for Politicizing Mumbai’s Safety

Hyderabad: The Telangana BJP spokesperson, N.V. Subash, has strongly condemned the recent attack on actor Saif Ali Khan while calling out the Congress for making unwarranted allegations about Mumbai’s safety under the BJP-led government.

“The attack on Saif Ali Khan is deeply unfortunate and condemnable. However, branding Mumbai as unsafe based on an isolated incident is an irresponsible narrative that disrespects the resilience of Mumbaikars and the city’s stature as India’s business capital,” said Subash.

He criticized Congress leaders for using the incident to indulge in what he termed “petty politics.” Subash highlighted that Mumbai has faced far graver challenges during Congress rule, including:
26/11 Terror Attacks:

The devastating terrorist assault on Mumbai in 2008 claimed hundreds of innocent lives.

Gulshan Kumar’s Assassination: The renowned music producer was shot dead in broad daylight during Congress’ tenure.

1993 Bomb Blasts: A series of bombings rocked Mumbai, killing over 250 people, under Congress’ governance.

“Did any political party back then claim Mumbai was unsafe to live in? The Congress now finds itself without credible issues and resorts to baseless allegations,” Subash added.

He reiterated that Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has already condemned the attack on Saif Ali Khan and is closely monitoring the investigation. The Mumbai Police, known for its efficiency, has swiftly identified suspects and is ensuring justice is served.

Subash concluded by reminding Congress of its own failures: “Mumbai has faced far greater challenges, yet Mumbaikars have always risen above them. For Congress, whose tenure was marked by frequent terror attacks and communal clashes across the country, to question Mumbai’s safety is like the pot calling the kettle black.”

The BJP reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring the safety and security of every citizen and urged the opposition to avoid politicizing isolated incidents for narrow political gains.
