Chirahula Hanuman Mandir, a 500-year-old temple, is located in Chirahula Colony, near Chirahula Pond, Rewa district, Madhya Pradesh.
The presiding deity of the temple is Lord Hanuman, worshipped here as Sri Chirahula Nath Swami. Lord Hanuman is revered as the embodiment of strength, devotion, courage, and justice. Devotees believe that Hanumanji here personally listens to prayers and resolves problems faced by sincere devotees.
Chirahula Hanuman Mandir follows a simple North Indian temple architectural style. The main sanctum houses the idol of Lord Hanuman. The temple has an open courtyard that accommodates large gatherings of devotees, especially on auspicious days. The presence of Chirahula Pond nearby adds to the spiritual and peaceful atmosphere of the temple. Within the complex, there is also a Shiva shrine with representations of the 12 Jyotirlingas, enhancing the religious significance of the site.
The history and Sthalapurana of Chirahula Hanuman Mandir are deeply connected and preserved mainly through oral tradition and local belief.
It is believed that several centuries ago, this area was known for spiritual activities and deep devotion. A great saint named Chiroul Das Baba lived here and performed intense devotion to Lord Hanuman. Pleased with his devotion, Lord Hanuman is believed to have manifested His divine presence at this place, near the Chirahula pond. Following divine guidance, the saint established the worship of Hanuman here, and the temple gradually developed around this sacred spot.

The most unique belief associated with this temple is that Lord Hanuman conducts a divine court here. According to the Sthalapurana, devotees who were unable to find justice or solutions to their problems through worldly means began approaching Hanumanji with complete faith. It is believed that Hanumanji listens to devotees’ petitions (arji) like a judge and delivers justice in his own time.
Because of this strong belief, the temple became popularly known as “Hanuman’s Court.” People facing legal issues, injustice, fear, mental stress, or long-standing obstacles come here and place their problems before Hanumanji with sincerity. Devotees believe that falsehood does not survive here and that truth, patience, and devotion are rewarded.
When devotees experience relief or fulfillment of wishes, they traditionally offer the Sundarkand path, Ramcharitmanas recitation, and bhandara as a mark of gratitude. This belief system has continued for generations and remains the spiritual backbone of the temple even today.
Hanuman Jayanti is the most important festival celebrated here, during which the temple is beautifully decorated and special prayers and bhajans are performed. Tuesdays and Saturdays are considered highly auspicious, and the temple witnesses heavy footfall on these days. Regular Sundarkand recitations, Ramayan path, and bhandaras are conducted by devotees.
Spiritually, the temple is believed to be extremely powerful for those seeking justice, courage, mental strength, protection from fear, and relief from long-standing problems. Devotees strongly believe that Lord Hanuman of Chirahula does not ignore sincere prayers and blesses those who approach him with honesty and devotion.
