3rd edition of ‘The Sacred Amritsar’ festival set to kick off on February 21

New Delhi: The third edition of ‘Sacred Amritsar’ will be held in the city from February 21 to February 23. Having become part of the holy city’s cultural and arts calendar, Sacred Amritsar would once again bring celebrated names from the field of music, poetry and folk under one roof.

The three-day festival is curated by Teamwork Arts. Sanjoy K Roy, managing director, Teamwork Arts, said, “Amritsar has been a hidden gem in terms of its heritage and cultural landscape. To celebrate and to pass on the rich history of this city, we have curated a festival that not only celebrates the tangible and intangible history of the city but also engages audience and citizens in a dialogue around its preservation and continuation.”

Highlights of the festival include musical performances, heritage walks through iconic landmarks and insightful sessions featuring Malini Awasthi, folk Queen of India, Yatinder Mishra, Neelam Man Singh, and others.

The preview had city-based poet and academician Dr Sarbjot Singh Behal recite his poem ‘Children of War’, which is dedicated to kids of Gaza.

Dr Behal narrated how children, the most innocent victims of a war, are subjected to punishment just because they are born in a certain country.

Celebrating the structural and architectural history of the city, several heritage locations across Amritsar – Golden Temple, Qila Gobindgarh, the Earth and Partition Museum would host the events for three days.
