Youth Urged to Follow Vivekananda’s Ideals at Hyderabad Convention

Hyderabad: A Special Youth Convention titled “Swami Vivekananda and the Way Forward” was organized at the Swami Vivekananda Institute of Technology in association with Ramakrishna Math in Hyderabad, drawing enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members.

The convention focused on the timeless teachings of Swami Vivekananda and their continuing relevance for the younger generation. Speakers emphasized the importance of character building, self-discipline, leadership and service to society, urging students to cultivate confidence, ethical values, and a strong sense of responsibility toward the nation.

The programme was graced by Swami Bodhamayananda, Adhyaksha of Ramakrishna Math, who delivered the introductory address. The Chief Guest, noted public administrator and social reformer Jayaprakash Narayan, delivered an inspiring speech, encouraging the youth to channel their energy towards nation-building and ethical leadership.

Earlier, the President of Mahbub College and Honorary Secretary & Correspondent of Swami Vivekananda Institute of Technology, P. L. Srinivas, welcomed the dignitaries, faculty members and students. In his address, he urged students to become responsible citizens and follow the ideals of Swami Vivekananda.

Srinivas also recalled the historic visit of Swami Vivekananda to Mahbub School in Hyderabad, where the monk addressed a gathering before embarking on his landmark journey to deliver his famous speech at the World’s Parliament of Religions in Chicago. He encouraged students to draw inspiration from this historic connection and strive to embody Vivekananda’s vision of service and national pride.

The convention included felicitation of the dignitaries, interactive sessions with students and motivational messages on youth empowerment and personal development.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by the Principal of the institute, Dr. Eshwar Dara, who expressed gratitude to the chief guest, Swami Bodhamayananda, the management, organisers, faculty and students for their participation and support.

The convention left students inspired to shape their future with confidence, strong values and a spirit of service, reflecting the enduring message of Swami Vivekananda.
