TDP re-elects Chandrababu Naidu as party president for another two years

Kadapa (Andhra Pradesh):  TDP supremo and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has been reelected as the president of the party for the next two years, the party said on Wednesday.

“Nara Chandrababu Naidu has been elected as the National President of TDP for the next two years,” Ramaiah said, addressing the crowd.

TDP election committee chairman Varla Ramaiah announced the result of the election on the second day of the three-day Mahanadu, the party’s annual conclave here, and later administered the oath of office to Naidu amid cheers.

Ramaiah added that a dedicated election office had been set up for this poll, and around 600 party leaders came forward to support Naidu’s nomination. Naidu, who has led the party since 1995, continues at the helm for a new term, marking nearly three decades of leadership.

His re-election was met with support from party cadres, reinforcing his central role in the leadership and direction of the TDP as it navigates both state and national political landscapes.

Earlier today, during his address to the cadres at the Mahanadu Sabha, Chief Minister Naidu called for the cancellation of Rs 500 and higher denomination currency notes.  He said such a move would help curb corruption and enhance transparency in financial transactions. The Chief Minister advocated for the removal of larger currency notes such as Rs 500, Rs 1,000 and Rs 2,000 and called for stronger promotion of digital payments.
