Miami, Florida: Donald Trump spoke at the Future Investment Initiative (FII) summit on Friday evening, March 27. During his remarks, he described himself as a “peacemaker” and said he wants to be remembered that way in the future. He explained that he truly believes in this role and hopes it becomes part of his lasting legacy.
He also talked about how success plays an important part in shaping that image. According to him, winning changes everything and helps build his reputation as a peacemaker. He added that people are more likely to support and follow a leader who wins.
In his speech to the FII summit, Trump covered a wide range of topics, including US foreign policy, issues in the Middle East, and global energy supply.
During the discussion, Trump reflected on his role in resolving global conflicts and presented it as a major part of his record. He said, “What do you want your legacy to be? So, I told you that I settled eight wars,” pointing out that many of these conflicts had lasted for decades and involved heavy loss of life.
He explained that ending these long-running wars had a large human impact. “I’ve saved millions and millions of people,” he said, and believes this should define how he is remembered.
He openly shared his personal goal, saying, “I’d love my legacy to be made as a great peacemaker because I really believe I’m a peacemaker,” while noting it may not always appear that way to others right now.
Trump also spoke about what he believes is the most important leadership quality. He made it clear that success is central, stating, “Well, it’s winning. You gotta win,” and explained that results matter more than anything else. Comparing leadership to sports, he said outcomes are easier to judge and that winning builds confidence and authority.
To support his point, he mentioned Vince Lombardi, describing him as a tough leader whose success made him respected. Trump argued that winning makes leadership easier and more effective, adding, “It’s much easier to lead when you’re successful, and you win.” He ended by stressing the connection between success and influence: “People follow you if you winwin.”
During his address, he focused on global security and the Middle East, sharing his views on Iran and regional stability. Trump told the audience that Iran has been “decimated” and is no longer a serious threat.
He said, “Tonight, we’re closer than ever to the rise of the Middle East that is finally free at last from Iranian terror, aggression, that’s what’s happened,” highlighting his belief that the region is moving toward a more stable future.
The FII conference, which began in Saudi Arabia, has grown into a major global platform focused on strengthening economic ties between the US, the Gulf region, and other markets. It also aims to encourage large-scale investments and international cooperation.
