Hyderabad: The Hare Krishna Golden Temple at Banjara Hills witnessed grand celebrations on Sunday, marking Sri Radhastami, the appearance day of Srimati Radharani, consort of Lord Sri Krishna.
Devotees thronged the temple from early morning for darshan of Sri Radha Govinda, adorned in new attire and jewellery. The temple was decorated with fresh flowers, while rituals and festivities continued through the day.
The highlight of the celebrations was the “108 Kalasha Sri Radha Govinda Abhishekam,” performed with Panchamrita, Panchagavya, fruit juices, herbal powders, flowers, and sacred offerings, accompanied by Vedic chants and Harinama Sankirtana. Devotees also rendered “Sri Radhashtakam” in devotion.
A special Chappan Bhog (56 varieties of food) was offered, followed by Raja Bhoga Arati. In his discourse, temple president Sri Satya Gaura Chandra Dasa explained the significance of Radhashtami, observing that Radharani is revered as the universal mother and bestower of Krishna-Bhakti.
The day-long rituals included multiple sevas such as Maha Abhishekam, Pallaki Seva and Shayana Arati. The celebrations concluded with prasadam distribution to devotees.
