BJP Condemns Attack on Tollywood Star Allu Arjun’s Residence

Hyderabad: The BJP Telangana unit has strongly condemned the attack on Tollywood actor Allu Arjun’s residence on Sunday, allegedly carried out by individuals claiming to be Osmania University students. The incident has caused alarm within the film industry community in Hyderabad.

State BJP Spokesperson N.V. Subash criticized the attack, calling it “unequivocally condemnable” and questioned the motive behind the act.

“What message is the Revanth Reddy government trying to send to the Tollywood industry? How does the tragic stampede incident, in which a woman lost her life and her son was critically injured, justify this vandalism?” Subash remarked.

The BJP emphasized that law enforcement must investigate and identify whether those involved in the attack were truly students and determine if they were incited by political motives. “It’s the police’s job to investigate the case against the actor and let the law take its course. There is no justification for ruling party leaders, including the Chief Minister, to target the actor or provoke such acts,” Subash added.

He further reminded that Hyderabad has become a hub for Tollywood due to the efforts of past governments and warned against actions that could drive the film fraternity away. “Any attempt to create a hostile environment for Tollywood could have serious repercussions for the state,” he said, urging the government to avoid “witch-hunting” or politicizing the issue.

The BJP has called for calm and urged the state government to ensure the safety and security of the film industry in Hyderabad. “We stand against any attempts to vitiate the atmosphere or jeopardize the trust Tollywood has placed in Hyderabad as its home,” Subash concluded.
