BJP Blames Revanth Reddy Government for Political Witch-Hunt Leading to Party Leader’s Death

Hyderabad: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday squarely blamed the Congress-led Revanth Reddy government for the suspicious death of its Mandal President, Yeta Madhukar (45), whose body was found in the deep forest area of Vermanapalli Mandal, Mancherial district.

Addressing the media, N.V. Subash, Chief Spokesperson and Media In-charge of the Telangana BJP, alleged that Madhukar was driven to suicide due to relentless harassment by the local police, acting under political pressure from Congress leaders.

“Repeated intimidation and false cases pushed our leader to a point of no return. This is nothing short of a political witch-hunt,” Subash said.

He pointed out that the BJP’s growing reach among tribal communities and marginalized sections, even in the remotest corners of the state, has rattled the ruling party. “The BJP under Prime Minister Narendra Modi has empowered tribals not just through welfare schemes but through representation at the highest level — as seen in the election of the nation’s first tribal President, Smt. Droupadi Murmu,” he said.

Subash accused the Congress of betraying Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, treating them merely as vote banks for decades while diverting funds meant for their welfare. “Unlike the Congress, the Modi government has ensured that every rupee meant for SCs and STs reaches beneficiaries directly and makes them stakeholders in India’s growth story,” he added.

He warned that tension is mounting in the Nilwai forest area, where Madhukar’s body was found, and held the state government fully responsible for any breakdown of law and order. “The family members have categorically blamed local Congress leaders for foisting false cases and harassing him. Shockingly, even the family was prevented from taking custody of the body,” he alleged.

The BJP, Subash said, stands firmly behind the bereaved family and demanded that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy order immediate action against those responsible for Madhukar’s harassment and death. “The government cannot wash its hands of this tragedy. We demand strict action against the local police and political leaders involved in this vendetta,” he asserted.
