Bollywood stars, cricketers invest in Karamtara Engineering’s pre-IPO round

New Delhi: Bollywood actors Ranbir Kapoor and Aamir Khan, as well as cricket players Rohit Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah, have invested in power transmission firm Karamtara Engineering’s pre-IPO round.

Karamtara Engineering is a backward-integrated manufacturer of products for the renewable energy and transmission lines sectors. It offers a diverse product portfolio, which enables it to serve as a one-stop shop for solar structures (fixed-tilt and trackers).

The company offers lattice structures for transmission lines, fasteners for solar, wind, transmission, and industrial sectors, and overhead transmission line hardware fittings and accessories.

Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan demonstrated remarkable foresight in the drone industry. Specifically, he invested ₹25 lakh in DroneAcharya Aerial Innovations for 46,600 shares.

His pre-IPO investment secured a 0.26% stake in the company. Subsequently, after the company’s December 2022 market debut, his investment value soared to ₹72.62 lakh.

Following a similar investment path, Ranbir Kapoor ventured into drone technology. Initially, he invested ₹20 lakh to acquire 37,200 shares in DroneAcharya Aerial Innovations.

His 0.21% stake has shown impressive growth since the investment. Consequently, Kapoor’s initial investment has nearly tripled, reaching ₹57.97 lakh.

Alia Bhatt showcased her business acumen through her Nykaa investment. Moreover, she invested ₹4.95 crore in July 2020, before the company’s public listing.

Her strategic timing paid off significantly. Furthermore, her investment multiplied to ₹54 crore when Nykaa went public in November 2021.

In a unique approach, Katrina Kaif established a joint venture with Nykaa in 2018. Initially, she invested ₹2.04 crore in Nykaa-KK Beauty.

Her partnership proved highly successful. Subsequently, her investment value grew to approximately ₹22 crore during Nykaa’s public listing.

Shilpa Shetty made headlines with her Mamaearth investment strategy. First, she acquired 16 lakh shares at ₹41.86 each, totaling ₹6.7 crore.

Her calculated exit during the IPO proved profitable. Consequently, she earned ₹45.14 crore by selling 13.93 lakh shares while retaining 2.3 lakh shares.
