Revanth Reddy Unveils Major Employment Push with DSC-2024 Results

Hyderabad: Chief Minister Revanth Reddy announced the release of the DSC-2024 results at the state secretariat, highlighting his government’s commitment to job creation and quality education. Addressing a press conference on Monday, Reddy emphasized that teaching is not just a profession but a noble calling, deeply tied to the emotional fabric of society. He reiterated that addressing unemployment was a central issue during the Telangana movement and remains a key objective of his administration.

The Chief Minister pointed out that while the previous government, led by K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR), conducted only one DSC (District Selection Committee) exam during its decade-long tenure, filling just 7,857 positions, his government took significant strides by organizing DSC exams within 10 months of taking office. The latest recruitment process aims to fill 11,062 vacancies, with certificate verification set at a 1:3 ratio for each post. Appointment letters will be distributed at a ceremony in LB Stadium on October 9, in time to add joy to the Dussehra festivities for the successful candidates.

Reddy also revealed that in response to requests from unemployed youth, the government conducted the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) after issuing the DSC notification, enabling over 1 lakh candidates to qualify for the recruitment process. The Computer-Based Test (CBT) for DSC was held across 26 sessions between July 18 and August 5, and Reddy praised the efficient management by the Education Department for successfully organizing both the DSC and TET exams.

Integrated Residential Schools for Quality Education: As part of the government’s broader educational reforms, CM Revanth Reddy announced plans to establish integrated residential schools in 100 Assembly constituencies across Telangana, aimed at providing quality education to underprivileged students. The schools will be constructed on 20 to 25 acres of land at a cost of Rs 100 crore per school, with the first projects already underway in Kodangal and Madhira constituencies.

Criticizing previous administrations for segregating educational institutions based on caste and community, Reddy argued that such practices created a sense of inferiority among students. In contrast, the new integrated residential schools will be developed to meet corporate school standards, providing a high-quality learning environment for all students, regardless of background.

Reddy took a strong stance against the previous KCR government, accusing it of neglecting education by allocating insufficient funds and offering only minimal recruitment opportunities for teachers. He contrasted this with his administration’s commitment to prioritizing education, noting that the Congress-led government issued the DSC notification within two months of assuming power and has increased funding for education substantially.

Combating Misinformation and Reforming Teacher Promotions: The Chief Minister also addressed recent criticisms by opposition parties and certain media outlets regarding the state of residential schools and hostel facilities. He dismissed the allegations as misinformation, blaming the previous government for leaving behind a legacy of substandard infrastructure. He affirmed that his government is committed to addressing these issues by establishing new schools and improving the existing ones.

Reddy further lambasted the former government for delaying teacher promotions and transfers for years, creating stagnation within the system. Under his leadership, the Congress government has swiftly resolved these long-pending issues, completing the promotion and transfer processes without any controversy.

A Government Focused on Employment and Education: Highlighting the government’s focus on tackling unemployment, the Chief Minister announced that 30,000 appointment letters had been issued within 30 days of coming to power. The Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) has been overhauled to ensure transparent recruitment for Group 1, 2, and 3 posts, with exams being conducted without any errors.

In the first year of its tenure, the government has already filled 60,000 jobs, with more to come as part of its ongoing commitment to job recruitment. “Our government views spending on education not as a financial burden, but as an investment in the future,” Reddy said, adding that all government schools will remain operational, regardless of enrollment numbers.

The event was attended by several prominent figures, including State Ministers Damodara Rajanarasimha, Tummala Nageswara Rao, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, and Konda Surekha, along with senior officials such as Education Commission Chairman Akunuri Murali and Education Secretary Burra Venkatesham.
