Time to Stop the Dangerous Appeasement Politics

The Congress party’s dangerous appeasement politics have pushed the nation to the brink, posing a serious threat of demographic upheaval. Despite the sweeping victories of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at the Centre and in many states, the Congress’ disastrous policies persist, bringing the country to an unprecedented low.

The Congress, notorious for its relentless placation tactics, has initiated policies that threaten the very fabric of Indian society. The country’s demographic landscape is undergoing alarming changes, with majority Hindu populations now dwindling in several regions.

This trend mirrors developments seen in many European countries, once dominated by Christians, now facing significant demographic shifts. The United Kingdom, which once ruled vast parts of the world, is now under the serious threat of becoming an Islamic nation if the statistics circulating on social media are to be believed. France, too, is experiencing troubling changes, especially evident as the country prepares to host the Olympics. These shifts in Europe convey a disturbing trend that should not be overlooked, and India is no exception.

In today’s India, it is more alarming as the irreparable damage wrought by regional parties like Akhilesh Yadav’s Samajwadi Party in Uttar Pradesh, Mamata Banerjee’s Trinamool Congress in West Bengal and the Left and its allies in Kerala. Their appeasement policies have led to a drastic reduction in the Hindu population. These parties, in their quest for votes, have compromised the cultural and demographic integrity of their states.

Hindu voters, historically fragmented in their voting patterns unlike the united Muslim electorate, are continuing the same. This is particularly evident as the Congress continues to boast of its pivotal role in India’s freedom struggle while appropriating icons like Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and Bal Gangadhar Tilak. These icons championed Hindu unity and opposed the Congress’ appeasement tactics.

In West Bengal, Kali Puja celebrations face brutal suppression from Mamata. Her regime has aggravated the state’s decline, continuing the destructive legacy of the Left. Mamata’s government has been accused of facilitating illegal migration from Bangladesh and Myanmar, granting them Indian citizenship, and altering the state’s demographic fabric. This strategy has bolstered her party’s electoral chances while allowing pro-Pakistan and Hamas ideologies to proliferate, forcing Hindus to flee their homes.

Assam Chief Minister and BJP leader Himanta Biswa Sarma has rightly raised concerns about the dwindling Hindu population in his state, compounded by illegal immigration since the 1971 Bangladesh war. According to him today the Muslim population has reached 40 percent which was just 12 percent in 1951. This is a legacy of Congress under Indira Gandhi. Over half a dozen states, particularly in the northeast, face similar demographic threats. Christian missionaries and illegal immigrants have systematically altered the population balance, converting Hindu tribals to Christianity.

These immigrants, often facilitated by complacent forces like the Border Security Force and Indo-Tibetan Border Police, have infiltrated from Kashmir to Kanyakumari. BJP MP Nishikant Dubey’s concerns about illegal immigrants in Jharkhand marrying locals to legitimize their stay highlight this issue. These immigrants manage to secure Indian citizenship and alter the population composition of various regions.

Despite being on the verge of decimation after losing majority of states it held before 2014, Congress has managed to regain power in Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka and Telangana through its appeasement politics. These include excessive reservations for minorities, raising significant concerns. The recent Telangana budget by Revanth Reddy government exemplifies this indulgence, surpassing even his predecessor Kalvakuntla Chandrashekhar Rao’s efforts in minority appeasement.

Despite this stark reality, many Hindus continue to be swayed by freebies, digging their own graves and risking becoming a minority in their own country. This vulnerability to short-term gains over long-term survival is alarming. The judiciary, too, appears complacent, failing to protect national interests. The Supreme Court has turned a blind eye to cases like that of Amrit Pal Singh, a pro-Khalistani activist and Rashi Engineer, accused of funding pro-Pakistani terror groups, in contesting the recent Lok Sabha elections.

The BJP-led National Democratic Alliance despite being branded pro-Hindu, has not discriminated against minorities in its 10-year rule. India’s rise from the 10th to fifth largest economy, aiming for the third spot by 2026 under Narendra Modi’s leadership, is a testament to this inclusive development. Communal harmony is better today than under the Congress’ six-decade rule, with fewer bomb blasts and conflicts, except in Mamata-ruled West Bengal.

The demographic concerns raised by Sarma are indeed a reality. Constitutional bodies like the Legislature, Executive, Judiciary, Election Commission and independent agencies like the National Investigation Agency, Central Bureau of Investigation and Enforcement Directorate must share the blame for this crisis. Their failure to act decisively against illegal immigration and demographic manipulation has worsened the situation.

The Election Commission’s failure to act against communal parties like the Indian Union Muslim League and All-India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen, allowing them to participate in elections, is a glaring example. These parties, which operate on religious lines, challenge the secular nature of the Indian democratic process. This oversight highlights a significant gap in the enforcement of electoral integrity.

India stands at a critical juncture where the appeasement politics of the Congress and regional parties threaten its demographic and cultural integrity. The BJP’s inclusive development model offers a counter-narrative, emphasizing unity and national interest over divisive politics. However, the laziness of Hindu voters and constitutional bodies must be addressed to safeguard the nation’s future.

The time for complacency is over. Hindus must recognize the importance of unity and strategic voting to counter the dangerous appeasement politics that threaten their existence. Constitutional bodies must act decisively to protect national interests and maintain electoral integrity. Only through collective vigilance and action can India navigate this perilous phase and emerge stronger.
