New Delhi: The Unified Logistics Interface Platform (ULIP) has achieved a major milestone, surpassing 100 crore API transactions. This achievement cements ULIP’s role as a key driver in modernizing India’s logistics sector, aligning with the government’s Make in India initiative and the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
Union Minister of Commerce & Industry Shri Piyush Goyal lauded this accomplishment, emphasizing its impact on India’s trade and manufacturing ecosystem. “ULIP’s success is a testament to the collaborative efforts of users, logistics stakeholders, and government departments. By leveraging API integrations, we are building a seamless logistics framework that enhances Ease of Doing Business and strengthens India’s position as a global trade and manufacturing powerhouse,” he said. The minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to expanding ULIP’s capabilities to make Indian logistics more agile, resilient, and competitive.
ULIP has revolutionized logistics operations by bridging data gaps, enabling automation, and facilitating real-time cargo tracking. Processing an average of 1 crore API transactions weekly, it has democratized logistics data, allowing businesses of all sizes to optimize their supply chains efficiently. The platform’s adoption is transforming the competitive landscape by breaking monopolistic control and empowering MSMEs, startups, and large enterprises alike.
Major manufacturing companies, including Prism Johnson, Asian Paints, and Tata Steel, are utilizing ULIP’s APIs to streamline transporter verification, automate operations, and enhance supply chain efficiency. Additionally, ULIP’s multi-modal APIs—spanning road, rail, ocean, and air—enable real-time shipment tracking, ensuring just-in-time inventory management and cost savings for manufacturers.
Beyond logistics efficiency, ULIP is also playing a crucial role in sustainability efforts. Companies like Century Plywoods and TCIL are using the platform to identify greener transport alternatives, reduce emissions, and contribute to India’s carbon reduction goals.
Transporters and logistics service providers, including Cuttack Carriers, Road Pilot, and Intugine, are leveraging ULIP for digital documentation, automated gate processes, and seamless freight movement, reducing congestion and improving turnaround times at logistics hubs. Government departments at both state and central levels are also integrating ULIP’s digital framework for data-driven decision-making.
Launched by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi under the National Logistics Policy (NLP) on September 17, 2022, ULIP was designed to create an integrated, technology-driven logistics sector. Since its inception, the platform has linked 43 systems from 11 ministries through 129 APIs, covering over 1,800 data fields, ensuring comprehensive data access for stakeholders. With over 1,300 registered companies and 350+ agreements signed, ULIP has proven to be a game-changer in driving operational efficiency and innovation in India’s logistics ecosystem.
