Prerana Proves ‘Real Prerana’!

Visakhapatnam: The Waltair Division of East Coast Railways has taken the initiative of a Series of Talks by Distinguished luminaries called ‘Prerna’ or ‘Inspiration’ aimed at inspiring the workforce of railways to strive for the betterment not only of the institution they work for but also for the nation as well as the world.

The event began with an inspirational lecture by a renowned physician and the country’s prestigious Padma Shri, Dr. Kutikuppala Surya Rao, at the DRM Conference Hall, Dondaparthy, here.

The Divisional Railway Manager, Saurabh Prasad, conceptualized this initiative with the idea of inviting eminent personalities to share their inspirational journeys, struggles, and how they could overcome challenges to accomplish success. The conference hall was jam-packed with officers from various dispensations within Indian railways, who were spellbound by Dr. Rao’s lecture.

Dr. Rao is a known physician who carved a nick for himself in his dedicated field of HIV medicine. He received several prestigious awards, including the Padma Shri from the Indian government, the Mahatma Gandhi Samman Puraskar from the Upper House of Lords in London, and a Lifetime Achievement Award from ATA, USA. He also holds the most envious Guinness Book of World Records in HIV prevention research.

Dr. Rao‘s lecture was dedicated to his pet subject – the importance of health management, techniques, the relationship between productivity and standard health maneuvers, exercises, yoga, meditation (Dhyana), anger management, and action plans. He also shared inspirational case studies and offered tips on unlocking one’s potential, ensuring success, and pursuing hidden dreams.

Those who attended include; ADRM (Infra) Sudhir Kumar Gupta, ADRM (Operations) Manoj Kumar Sahoo, branch officers, and officers from various departments. The event has indeed been a valuable opportunity for railway professionals to gain insights, motivation, and inspiration. Hence, the initiative appears to have lived up to the title – Prerana!
