Revanth Reddy mocks Union Budget as ‘Kurchi Bachao Budget’

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has sharply criticized the Union Budget 2024-25, labeling it a ‘Kurchi Bachao Budget.’

He accused the Modi government of allocating funds to Andhra Pradesh and Bihar solely to appease its allies, TDP and JDU.

Expressing his discontent, Revanth Reddy condemned the perceived vendetta against Telangana, questioning why the state received no allocations under the Union Budget despite the AP Reorganization Act applying to both Telugu states. “I have personally met Prime Minister Modi three times to discuss various issues affecting Telangana. Despite my respect for him as an elder brother and our efforts to maintain a strong Centre-State relationship, he has ignored our goodwill and revealed his true intentions,” Reddy stated, alleging a deliberate neglect of Telangana by PM Modi.

“It seems PM Modi does not want Telangana to be part of his Vikasit Bharat vision. The Centre didn’t even mention ‘Telangana’ in the Budget. People never expected such hostility from Modi Sarkar against our state,” he added.

Reddy accused the BJP of seeking votes and seats from Telangana without any commitment to its development. “PM Modi has presented a quid pro quo Budget to secure his position. This is truly a Kurchi Bachao Budget,” he asserted, condemning the government’s disregard for Telangana’s needs.
