Hyderabad: Veteran journalist Dasu Krishnamoorty was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award at a program held at the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Arts College, Osmania University on Dec 30.
Dasu Krishnamoorty who is 99 years old lives in New Jersey in the US.
Dasu Krishnamoorty was the first student of the first batch of journalism in Osmania University in 1954. He worked for several national newspapers and taught journalism in Osmania University, Hyderabad Central University, and the Indian Institute of Mass Communication before moving to the US.
The award was presented by the 1989-91 BCJ/MCJ batch of Journalism students of Arts College, Osmania University. From the present batch, 26 students were presented the Chilkuri Sushil Rao ‘Badge of Honour’ for excellence in their studies and practical work.
Past recipients of the Lifetime Achievement Award include M P Rabindranath who worked for Deccan Chronicle and Dasu Kesava Rao who worked for The Hindu.
