Mumbai: A fire broke out at the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation’s (ONGC) Gas Processing Plant at Uran near Navi Mumbai on Tuesday morning killing four workers.
According to local MLA Manohar Bhoir, the naptha tank at the Gas Processing Plant caught fire at around 7 am. Four fire engines from Uran municipal corporation and JNPT were immediately rushed to the spot while three injured persons were rushed to the hospital, Bhoir said.
The fire broke out even though it is raining heavily in the area. According to preliminary information, the fire is likely to have broken out due to liquid leakage. All the workers from the plant have been evacuated and residents around the plant are being shifted to safer locations, Bhoir added.
