Meira gets no vote in AP, Kovind gets just one in Kerala


New Delhi: Opposition’s presidential nominee Meira Kumar did not get a single vote in Andhra Pradesh while the victorious NDA candidate Ram Nath Kovind polled just one in Kerala.

The Congress does not have presence in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly.

Kumar got one vote in Nagaland and three in Arunachal Pradesh.

Kovind got just one vote in Kerala and six in Delhi where AAP has an overwhelming majority.

The data provided by the returning officer for the election, in which Kovind garnered 2930 or 65.35 per cent of the total 4774 valid votes (of 10,69,358 value) polled, show the two contenders scored overwhelmingly over each other in some states. Kumar polled a total of 1844 votes (with value of 367314) or 34.35 per cent of votes.
