Chief Secretary wants PR workers be included in first phase of Covid vaccination


Hyderabad: State Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar on Saturday informed the Union Cabinet Secretary that all arrangements for vaccination in entire State has been done. He requested for inclusion of  Panchayat Raj workers for vaccination as they run a high risk of contracting infection due to exposure.

This was informed to the Union Cabinet Secretary Rajiv Gauba while taking part in a video conferences that was conducted by the latter with Chief Secretaries of States as well Lt Governors of Union Territories.

The other request that made was to include Public Representatives in for vaccination on priority. In fact, the state Health Minister Eatala Rajender has already made this request to Union Health Minister in the last video conferences.

Sam Rizwi, Secretary, Health, Medical and Family Welfare, Dr. Preeti Meena, Director, Drug Control Administration, Dr. K. Ramesh Reddy, Director, Medical Education, Dr. G. Srinivasa Rao, Director, Public Health and other officials also attended the video conference.

In his opening remarks, the Union Cabinet Secretary has asked the state government to make elaborate arrangements for Covid-19 vaccination. Taking the experience of the dry run conducted in States and UTs, he urged to adopt an effective strategy in implementation of vaccination process. As a part of Universal vaccination programme, it has been decided to give vaccine to health care workers of both Government and private sectors, front line warriors and persons of age above 50 year.
