AP CM Flags Off massive fleet of Mobile Dispensing Units for door-to-door ration rice distribution from Feb 1


Amaravati: Putting an end to black marketing, the AP Govt headed by Y S Jaganmohan Reddy decided to focus on the use of bio-metrics and continuous social audit, ensuring transparency in ration distribution*

This initiative is to provide livelihood to 9,260 unemployed youth of SC/ST/BC/EBC and minority communities through MDUs*

The MDUs to deliver ration with better quality, sortexed swarna variety medium slender rice.

Chief Minister on Thursday Jagan Mohan Reddy flagged off a massive fleet of 9,260 mobile dispensing units in a new phase of public distribution system (PDS) from February 1. This initiative taken by CM Jagan is to ensure that the elderly, differently abled and daily wage workers get their monthly ration on time. CM has promised that he would address these issues effectively during his padayatra.

AP is the first state in the country to launch door-to-door delivery of rice. this move will help 1.4 Cr family in getting ration at their door step. The Government will be spending an additional amount of Rs 830 Cr per year to enable door-delivery of essential ration across the state. The government has spent around Rs. 539 Cr to procure 9,260 MDU vehicles.

In the past under TDP dispensation, the people rejected the PDS system as distributed damaged, discolored chalky grains.

“Now, under our Jagan’s leadership our government is determined to distribute only better quality, medium slender rice to all the rice card holders in the state” said his political aide Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy.
