How will Imran Khan play the game of vicious politics as the Prime Minister of Pakistan?

Imran-gazers, particularly the Indian peaceniks, must also analyze his personality from his behavior pattern on the cricket field.

As world cup winning captain of Pakistan Cricket team, Imran is bound to play his political game to win at all costs against India; but not even to accept a “Tie” on the core issue of Kashmir.

Imran Khan, as Prime Minister nominee of PTI, has already unfolded his cricketing guiles as a fast bowler by extending the invitation to Kapil Dev, Sidhu and Gavaskar, which is only the first warm up ball bowled.

What next? Imran Khan may unfold a battery of cricketing tricks to follow: in-swing, out-swing, yorker, short pitched bouncer, good length bouncer, reverse swing and a slow ball.

All with the sole aim to knock-out India in the international and regional geo political arena!

Of course, the Pakistan Army would act as the “Coach” actively assisted by the ISI to play the diabolical foreign policy games against India.

Imran’s support staff in the political arena naturally would be the Islamist radical Mullahs like Taliban, Mullahs, Hafeez Sayeed and so on.

Even as a playboy, Imran was known for his predators’ behavior.  Unpredictability characterizes his personality.

Imran’s political behavior towards India, therefore, will depend on bridging the gulf with USA and strengthening the bonding with China.

So, there are going to be no easy diplomatic breakthroughs to promote peace in the short term context.

Modi and his foreign policy team, therefore, needs to adopt a “wait and watch” game based on flexible response strategy with tremendous dexterity.

There is no point in rushing into Imran’s deliberately laid ‘peace trap’ based on his initial statement or extending invitation to the “India’s cricketing trio and Amir Khan” to attend his oath taking ceremony.

“Terror and Peace talks” cannot go on simultaneously is India’s stated posture. Add to it, no third party involvement.
